Yes, we are a quaint little village nestled along the Caribbean coast, but we do have a variety of services available right here in our village.
We have numerous restaurants located around town for you to enjoy during your stay here serving up pasta, pizza, sushi, burritos, steak, chicken, pork, seafood, and yes of course, local Dominican food.
There are a variety of places to pick from for your stay, ranging from an all inclusive resort located directly on Bayahibe Beach (there are also a number of other all inclusive resorts located in neighboring Dominicus just 3 km away) to a plethora of smaller hotels, guesthouses, airbnbs, private rentals, and apartments. Accommodation choices range in price and style, you will surely find something to meet your needs.
Around town you will also find a variety of businesses to meet your travel needs while here. Some of the services include a small supermarket (La Defense), a number of smaller corner stores (colmados and mini marts), a bank, 2 ATMs (one located at the bank and the other found just outside the entrance to La Defense), a money exchange centre, car and motor bike or scooter rental shops, a number of small souvenier shops and huts, several tour and excursion companies, three pharmacies, three medical clinics, and several churches. We have a local police station, and there is also a school which goes up to grade 8 (after that, students travel to La Romana about a 20 minute drive away to finish their high school years). Just outside town, there is a Casino, and a late night dance spot (The Pit Stop).
