Emergency First Response

Coral Point Diving PADI

Continuing your diving education is not only about improving your skills underwater, but about becoming a safer, more aware and more responsible diver. Emergency First Response (EFR) represents a fundamental step in building real‑world confidence — both in and out of the water. EFR training teaches you how to recognize and respond to medical emergencies, manage stress and act effectively when it matters most. These skills go far beyond scuba diving and apply to everyday life, helping you stay calm, focused and prepared in unexpected situations. Often considered one of the most valuable courses a diver can take, Emergency First Response significantly increases confidence and decision‑making ability. Whether you are preparing for the Rescue Diver course, continuing toward professional levels, or simply want to be a more capable diver and individual, EFR is a key step in becoming truly well‑rounded and prepared

Diver Tips

Buoyancy & Trim

Keep neutral buoyancy and horizontal trim. Add small air bursts to your BCD and move slowly to protect corals and visibility.

Fin Kicks

Use gentle frog kicks or modified flutter. Avoid stirring the bottom—sand clouds reduce visibility and can damage marine life.

Marine Life Etiquette

Look, don’t touch. Keep a respectful distance from turtles, rays and seahorses; never chase or block their path.

Gas & No‑Deco Checks

Check pressure and NDL regularly with your buddy. Signal your guide at 100 bar and start a relaxed ascent plan.

Hands Off

Keep hands close to the body; use slow finning to hold position. Avoid grabbing rocks, corals or the boat ladder underwater.

Eco Choice

Use reef‑safe sunscreen, bring a reusable bottle, and follow your guide’s eco‑briefing to minimize impact.
