Dive Plan
Have you ever wondered how a diving day is organized?
actually getting on the boat and going to the dive site is only the final aspect of a much more complex logistics that requires adequate preparation because all activities can be carried out in a safe, fun and smooth way.
There are various aspects to consider when planning a day of diving first of all you need to know how many divers will be diving as boats have limited capabilities and for this reason it is necessary to distribute divers according to their preferred sites, their skills and the availability of spaces. on a boat.
At the level of equipment, it is necessary to ensure that all divers have their own complete equipment, possibly a secondtank for repetitive dives and you must be sure that there are: replacement equipment, oxygen, water, first aid straps, orings, food for longest trips, etc…
Divers do not always stay close to the dive center so you maybe have to arrange a transfer from the hotel where they are located, you also need to know how many dives you will run on that day, if the dive sites are close enough to allow two in a morning, for example, and if there will be additional dives in the afternoon, possibly a night dive? Do we have enough instructors and divemasters in case? Do we have courses? Do we also need flashlights, compasses and stage tanks if we do a deep dive? Is someone who whants to dive on Nitrox?
Clearly these are just some of the aspects to be taken into consideration, many others are clearly out of sight of divers. Did you know that to go out with boats you need permission from the Local Navy’s Office? Have we checked that the engines are working? And that the compressor is working at the best of its capacity? Do you have enough oil to run it? Have the filters been changed recently?
Simple? in reality what we have told you about is just an ideal day that does not take into account all the unexpected events that could happen: if some divers for example get sick or the visibility is not optimal we need to reorganize the even the whole day. What if the instructors got sick? do we cancel the whole plan?
Were you scared? Don’t worry, we have trained staff who think about all of this.
